About Postiz

Postiz is an open source social media scheduler that covers more than 20 networks, from X and LinkedIn to Bluesky, Threads and Mastodon, with built-in AI for captions, images and short videos. Indie makers and small teams run it on their own server; agencies buy the hosted version. The free option is self-hosting under the AGPL-3.0 licence, with no feature gates.

Where the free plan stops

Setup and maintenance. You register your own apps with each social network for OAuth, which the vendor notes can be slow, and you handle updates.
No managed cloud without paying. The hosted service has a 7-day trial only; there is no permanent free cloud tier.
No vendor support unless you are on a paid plan.

The hosted Standard plan is $29 a month for 5 channels, unlimited posts and 3 AI videos a month, but no extra team members or AI images. Team at $39 a month gives 10 channels, unlimited members and 100 AI images. Pro at $49 and Ultimate at $99 scale channels up to 100.

Who it suits

Self-hosted Postiz is a strong pick for a technical solo founder or a small team that is comfortable running Docker and wants Buffer-level scheduling for free. Non-technical users, or anyone who values not doing the social app approvals themselves, should compare the $29 a month cloud plan instead.
