Baserow

Baserow is an open source Airtable alternative: a no-code database you can also turn into forms and small apps. Ops teams, agencies and developers who want a relational database without writing SQL use it. The hosted Free plan gives you 3,000 rows per workspace, and the self-hosted edition has no row cap at all.

What the free plan gives you

On Baserow cloud the Free plan includes:

• 3,000 rows per workspace
• 2GB of file storage per workspace
• 2,000 automation credits a month
• 500 external app users for anything you publish with the application builder
• Grid, Form and Gallery views
• Unlimited collaborators inside the workspace

If you self-host the open source edition, the row, storage and credit limits above do not apply. You are bounded by your own server instead, and Baserow ships a Docker image to make that straightforward.

Where the free plan stops

• 3,000 rows per workspace is the wall for most people. A single CRM or inventory table can pass it in weeks.
• Only three view types. Kanban, Calendar, Timeline and the rest are paid.
• 2,000 automation credits a month runs out fast if you chain automations.

Premium at $12 per user per month billed monthly ($10 on the yearly plan) raises the caps to 50,000 rows, 20GB storage and 100,000 automation credits, unlocks all views and turns on AI features. Advanced at $22 per user per month goes to 250,000 rows plus role-based permissions and audit logs.

Who it suits

The hosted Free plan is right for a small tracker, a content calendar or trying Baserow against Airtable. Anyone with more than a few thousand records should either pay for Premium or self-host, where the same product is free without the row cap. Teams who want to avoid vendor lock-in will like that both paths exist.
